Fight The Bite‎: Yellow Jacket Season is Coming

It’s that time again: yellow jacket season. Your home may be surrounded by the likes of bees and wasps, but nothing is more aggressive than yellow jackets. They are fierce at defending their nests, and are especially bothersome and can even be agreesive when there is food laying around. The last thing you want to do is be continuously attacked by yellow jackets.

If their colonies are disturbed, yellow jackets will get extremely aggressive and sting whoever may be around them. It’s important to inspect the exterior of your home for yellow jacket nests before doing anything like cutting the grass, trimming the bushes, or washing the windows. While a yellow jacket sting is temporary for most people, they can be very painful. Some people may even be allergic to the sting of a yellow jacket, which can cause serious medical issues.

Considering the fact that yellow jackets tend to make their nests near exterior doors and windows, you need to do something to defend your own home, and prevent these critters from getting into your home and wreaking havoc on everyone and everything inside it.

While we are approaching the fall, the weather outside is still very warm and pleasant. You still want to be able to enjoy the outdoor air, even if you are still indoors. If you have a porch, you want to be able to relax in your own outdoor domain.

The only way to do that is to keep the doors and windows open. But leaving these entrances open to the outside means that anything outdoors can make its way in, including yellow jackets.

The best way to still be able to enjoy the outdoor air while keeping pesky yellow jackets out is by installing screens on all of your home’s doors and windows. At Doctor Screen, we install all sorts of variations of screens, including:

▪ Screen doors
▪ Screen windows
▪ Storm doors
▪ Porch enclosures
▪ Garbage screens
▪ Underdecking
▪ … and more!

At Doctor Screen, we bring our services right to you, so there’s no need to take a gamble on the local home improvement store on whether or not they will have the size screen you need.
